Oyster Island Resort
Experience firsthand the relaxed Melanesian way of life whilst enjoying the natural beauty that abounds on this private sanctuary, only a two minute boat ride from the mainland across a calm channel. This magnificent tropical paradise is located 150metres off the eastern side of Espirito Santo between the Ri Ri and Matevulu Blue Holes. The location allows for a variety of activities and our local knowledge allows us to give you a genuine glimpse of Vanuatu life.
Guests wake up to spectacular scenery from the comfort of our waterfront bungalows, and then spend their days enjoying all this unique island has to offer. Snorkel our beautiful reefs, dive the WWII Relics, go fishing, or kayak up the river to the stunning Blue Holes. Perhaps swinging in a hammock under the coconut trees or just picking up a packed lunch to spend the day on one of our nearby secluded islands is more your style.
Our beautifully constructed bungalows are designed in true island fashion using local materials. We are proud to offer private seafront balconies in every room including the essential hammock for relaxation! Each bungalow is slightly different, giving each guest a unique experience. Accommodation choices to suit all tastes range from ultra traditional Frangipani units to our exotic, new, thatched roof Deluxe Bamboo Bungalows.
Evenings can be enjoyed in front of spectacular sunsets with a cocktail or glass of wine from the famed Omata Estate. Delicious a la carte dining from Oyster Island Restaurant offers French-Pacific flavours with local ingredients including oysters that come straight from the water to you. Our restaurant is open 7 days a week and our hours are as relaxed as the atmosphere.

Things To Do
There is an abundance of activities to keep visitors busy on Oyster Island and tours to attractions on Santo are easily arranged. For those seeking a break from the ‘real world†the serenity of our white sand beaches or a massage on the balcony of a waterfront bungalow will certainly help the stress fade away.
As evening falls, sit down to a romantic candlelit dinner under the starry night sky on a private island or enjoy the ambience of our seafood restaurant. Oysters are collected from the shores of the island, making them the freshest in Vanuatu and they are complimented by a fantastic menu.
We have 11 open-top sea kayaks and snorkelling equipment for those wanting explore the surrounding waters or the Matevulu & Riri Blue Holes, which are within a leisurely 30 minute kayak from the island along the clear, tree lined waters. The house reef has an abundance of coral providing a habitat for a multitude of fish life. Join the Oyster Island Snorkelling Safari to visit multiple sights and to see the WWII plane wrecks.
The most famous diving around Espirito Santo is on the President Coolidge and Million Dollar point, but there are also a number of reef dives that can be done. For those that do not dive snorkelling can be arranged for you too.
Other major attractions are Champagne Beach, the Millennium Cave Tour and visits to custom villages to get a glimpse of the real Vanuatu.
Other activities include:
- Bush walking
